Locking VTX

Locking your VTX grants you access to VTX rewards, protocol revenue sharing, and bribe rewards from Platypus.

Lock VTX to earn rewards from our protocol revenue. Locked VTX is also used for voting on Platypus's gauge weights and new asset listings. Voting earns Locked VTX users even more rewards. Read more on voting here.

Locked VTX

Locking is super easy. Locking your VTX adds it to your locked stockpile. It will remain locked until you decide to unlock it. While locked, you will receive all locking rewards, plus be able to vote and receive the bribe APRs from whatever gauges you vote for.

How to unlock VTX

You can start the unlocking process at any time. You’ll select how much VTX you’d like to unlock, and then add it to one of 6 unlocking slots. Your VTX will unlock after 4 weeks. During those 4 weeks, you’ll receive the APR for locking VTX, but will not be able to vote or receive APR from bribes. After 4 weeks, you’ll be able to claim your unlocked VTX and do with it as you’d like.

As part of our Voting & Bribes update, Vector also made a change to our locking system.

  • VTX lockers receive voting power to make decisions on the Platypus platform, based on Vector's vePTP balance.

  • VTX lockers receive the rewards from staking VTX

  • In addtion, VTX lockers receive boosted rewards of VTX and a larger share of our Performance Fees

How do I Lock VTX?

  • The minumum lock period for VTX is 4 weeks. Once locked the user can start the unlock process.

  • Users can choose to unlock and withdraw their VTX tokens once the 4-week period is over.

  1. Navigate to the Lock tab

  2. Enter in your desired Lock amount

  3. Approve the contract

  4. Click "Lock"

  5. Your VTX will be locked indefinitely, until you begin the Unlock process. Unlocking VTX takes 4 weeks. See below for more details on Unlocking.

  6. If you have VTX in the Old Locker, you will need to migrate -- see the Medium article for more details

How do I Unlock VTX?

  1. Navigate to the Lock tab

  2. Click on the "Unlock" sub-tab

  3. Entire in your desired Unlock amount

  4. Click "Start Unlock"

  5. Unlocking will take 4 weeks. You will receive VTX emissions and revenue sharing (xPTP & zJOE) during this time, but you will not receive bribes

  6. You may have a maximum of 6 unlock slots at a time
